Professor Sheila Dillon leads a project that seeks to produce a database and digital map of the archaeological remains of ancient Athens. This project is a collaborative multi-disciplinary endeavor based in the Wired! Lab, and involves undergraduate and graduate students at Duke as well as international colleagues based in Athens.

Students enrolled in the Spring 2014 course "Imag(in)ing Athens," which was jointly taught by Professor Sheila Dillon and former Visiting Faculty Fellow Elizabeth Langridge-Noti and taught simultaneously at Duke and at DEREE - the American College of Greece, participated in a Spring Break trip to Greece so that the Duke students could see the landscape that they were studying and meet their Athenian counterparts. Both sets of students gained immensely from the time on site and for a number of the Duke students it was a transformative experience, leading to new directions of study.
