We are deeply saddened by the death of Srinivas Aravamudan, PI of Humanities Writ Large, on April 13, 2016.  

Srinivas was thrilled to receive an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Middlebury College, which Middlebury President Laurie Patton presented to him in a ceremony on April 9.  The Franklin Humanities Institute, which he was integral in shaping, is hosting an event to honor his memory on Monday, April 25, 5:30pm at the Ahmadieh Family Lecture Hall (C105, Bay 4, Smith Warehouse). Faculty, students, staff, and other members of the Duke community are invited to bring passages from his works as part of a "slow reading," and to share memories of Srinivas, particularly during his time as FHI Director.
