I am currently a fifth-year PhD student, and he is also completing the Duke Graduate Certificate Program in Feminist Studies, as well as the Certificate Program in College Teaching.
In my dissertation I engage with contemporary satirical narratives within Turkish German fiction, and the texts’ portrayal of Muslim masculinity. I am currently working on a chapter that investigates the potential of ethnic drag as a form of performative subversiveness.
