Christine Folch works on water and energy politics amidst the constraints of the Anthropocene. Her larger research agenda is on environmental ethics and how groups conceptualize and politicize their relationships to nature. As a cultural anthropologist, she is particularly interested in how energy and environmental impacts disproportionately negatively affect marginalized communities.

Christine's Duke faculty mentor is Professor John French.  She is a co-director of the Global Brazil Lab, and is one of the co-conveners of a new Emerging Humanities Networks project on Environmental Arts & Humanities.
