Max Cherem is one of a select group of philosophers and political theorists to comment on the Syrian refugee crisis in a recent installment of the  "Philosophers On" series on dailynous.com, which features news for and about the philosophy profession.  He addressed structural issues underlying current policy debates, specifically the definition of a refugee (as distinct from migrants and other refugee-like persons fleeing other perils) and the extralegal status of refugee camps.
