Philosophy through Sound and Stories
Wednesday, September 28, 2016 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Barry Lam, Associate Professor of Philosophy at Vassar College and Humanities Writ Large Visiting Faculty Fellow, will speak as part of the Scholars and Storytelling series in Story Lab. His goal this year at Duke is to bring contemporary philosophy together with sound and narrative storytelling. In this lunchtime discussion he will play some clips from the work he has done so far to show how even very complex philosophical topics come alive, and can sound riveting, when you pair them with stories and soundtracking. Fans of podcasting generally, as well as faculty or students interested in public philosophy or public humanities, are encouraged to attend.
