Valerie Gillispie, Duke's University Archivist, is holder of a master's degree in public history from North Carolina State University and a second master's in library science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her local graduate studies included a two year internship in Duke's archive. After serving five years at Wesleyan University, she became the third person to take on the role of Duke's official record-keeper.
