Beatriz Wallace is an MFA candidate and a Digital Humanities Assistant at Duke University. She studies range from color theory, typography, painting, and illustration to JavaScript, discrete mathematics and data visualization. Her work explores 16th-19th century anatomical illustrations and mindfulness text as a means to enhance institutional empathy and improve patient experience with illness. She has worked as project manager on studies of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and the effect of digital storytelling on child survivors of domestic violence. She has taught Interactive Design at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, the University of Missouri and Duquesne University.
