A Critical Phenomenology of Solidarity and Resistance in the 2013 California Prison Hunger Strikes

A public lecture by philosopher, prison educator, and activist Lisa Guenther. Guenther is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Vanderbilt University and the author of The Gift of the Other: Levinas and the Politics of Reproduction. She facilitates a weekly discussion group at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville, Tennessee.

The event is part of a series organized by the Humanities Writ Large Emerging network “Mass Incarceration and the Carceral State.”
